Zinc plated and colour passivated sheet metal brackets
Zinc plated and colour passivated sheet metal brackets
Sheet metal work manufactured from aluminium and stainless steel alloys can be treated and finished with a range of processes but are often left just material self colour due to their corrosion resistance. If they need to have different colours then obviously they can be powder coated or stove enamelled RAL colours with texture or smooth finished in a range of gloss levels. Mild steel however will need some sort of protection if it is to be used in any environment where there is any risk of moisture. For external use zinc galvanised treatments are often specified if no further finishing is to be carried out. If the mild steel components are for interior use or they are external components and are to have a powder coated finish then zinc plating with a passivated finish can be specified.
The brackets illustrated here have been zinc plated and colour passivated to produce a golden colour. This is quite acceptable for mild steel sheet metal brackets that will not have any further protection and be used in interior designs e.g. housing brackets, alarm box fixing points, light fitting stirrups, motor pumps etc.
If you have sheet metal components and you are not sure which treatment or finish to specify please give us a call and we will be happy to guide you.
