When bending sheet metal work we have many manufacturing options. We can use simple V block and blade tooling in one of our fly presses which can still be productive for small sheet metal components or when we wish to make up special tooling to achieve a non standard bend e.g. joggles, hooks and safe edges.
If the parts are under 1M in length and simple but needing greater accuracy or they are complex sheet metal components we would use one of our Trumpf 7036 CNC press brakes. These machines give us the ability to control all aspects of the bending cycle within the CNC program and guarantee repeatability from batch to batch. If the sheet metal parts being bent are over 1M in length we would then opt for one of our Edwards Pearson CNC press brakes.
They offer the same control over the bending cycle but have added power and bend length, up to 2.5M. There is however another option for sheet metal work up to 600mm in length and that’s one of our Guifil PE 6-16 CNC press brakes. With their 2 axis CNC back gauges they can be thought of as sophisticated fly presses when it comes to CNC bending sheet metal work. You can see from the images on the right that they can be used to manufacture a host of smaller sheet metal components including brackets, boxes, lids, chassis, angles, channels etc in a range of materials and gauges.
With all the processes V and F Sheet Metal offer as a service we try and have more than one possible route for manufacturing. This allows us to select the best route for your particular sheet metal work and gives you the comfort of knowing that we always have a backup option if you need your parts quickly or if we have any issues with a particular machine we can keep producing sheet metal work for you.
