Tig Welding and Mig Welding sheet metal fabrications
We have illustrated below just a small selection of the bespoke sheet metal fabrications we have produced using Tig, Mig and gas welding processes. The parts illustrated below include sheet metal fabrications from stainless steel, mild steel, Zintec and aluminium alloys.
- Aluminium Electronics Enclosure
Aluminium electronics enclosure with Mig welded corner joints, powder coated black.
- Stainless Steel Pump Housings
Stainless steel pump housings with fully Tig welded corner seams. The final sheet metal fabrication has polished sheet metal faces with invisible joints.
- Mild Steel Oil Tank with MiG welded joints
Mild steel sheet metal fabricated oil tank with Tig welded tack welds and Mig welded seam welds. The final sheet metal fabrication is cleaned off flush to the parent metal, checked for leaks with a die pen system and powder coated.
- Aluminium Electronics Enclosure
Aluminium electronics enclosure with Tig welded corners joints fully seam welded. Cleaned up with blend rads the same as the CNC bend rads and then powder coated.
- Aluminium Electronics Enclosure
Aluminium electronics enclosure Tig welded corner joints fully seam welded and cleaned off smooth ready for anodising.
- Stainless Steel Display Frame
Stainless steel display frame with corners joint fully Tig welded. The frames are then polished with a grain effect to produce an invisible joint.
- Aluminium Electronics Enclosure
Aluminium electronics enclosure with fully TiG welded corner joints, cleaned off smooth with hand grinders and then powder coated.
- Aluminium Buried Housing Body
Aluminium buried housing body with tack welded corner joints. The sheet metal enclosure is bent up from one piece of aluminium and tack welded at the corners to lock the enclosure together. This particular housing is used in the floor when concrete is poured to create a void that a floor mounted light fitting can then be inserted in.
- Aluminium Tray with Corner Joints
Aluminium tray with corner joints seam welded shut and cleaned off smooth to simulate the same corner radius as the CNC bend radius prior to powder coating.
- Aluminium Wall Mounted Uplighter
Aluminium (2mm thick) wall mounted up lighter housing with Tig welded corner joint seams. Once powder coated the final welded joints cannot be seen giving the appearance of a solid block once hung on the wall.
- Pump Control Housing - stainless steel
Stainless steel pump control housing with fully Tig welded corners. Once this part has been mirror polished the joining method cannot be seen.
- Light Fitting Housing
Mild steel sheet metal light fitting housing with fused corner joints cleaned off smooth on the external surfaces before powder coating. The curved section was created by using a CNC bending multi-bend process in one of our Edwards Pearson press brakes called multi-bending.
- Aluminium Ceiling Recessed Housing
Aluminium ceiling recessed housing for a small light fitting with tack welded corner joints. This small welded fabrication is used in the ceiling protruding down and then plastered in place so that a clean hole of light appears in the ceiling.
- Flood Light Fitting Cowl
Aluminium flood light fitting cowl with Mig welded joints. The facets are created by CNC bending and the base panel by CNC punching a multi-sided polygon. after welding the final fabricated assembly is cleaned up using hand grinding tools and then powder coated.
- Electronics Curved Housing
Mild steel electronics curved housing with Tig welded joints seam welded and cleaned off prior to powder coating. The end brackets have been CNC punched, de-burred, CNC bent and then spot welded in place using production spot welding jigs.
